You remember Audrina’s sexy little gold bathing suit for the Carls Jr. commercial? Um…Thank you, Joey! She’s sexy, sassy and wonderfully intriguing; We’d like to introduce you to the talented and inspirational, Joey Tierney, fashion designer and stylist to the stars. We’re not going to lie, we’re obsessed with her style. You’ve probably seen her alongside Audrina Patridge, and other celebs like Jaime Pressly. We can vouch, her hunger and determination is charmingly contagious.
There she was, a cute little 22 year old receptionist, when she got asked to be a wardrobe assistant on an international tour. Why not, right? Well, she ended up going on tour with the one and only Britney Spears (at the ultimate height of her career!). The next 3 years were filled with magic and travel, and when it was all over Joey had found her calling; she started a line of skirts and began her path toward being the badass chick she is today.
When we asked Joey about her struggles, this is what she told us:
“Fashion Styling (and being self-employed in general) is very inconsistent so budgeting is very important! Learn to take risks and let yourself & your business grow – don’t be afraid of change. Love what you do, follow your instincts and know that you can be an artist but you have to make that art form a business to keep the lights on.”There was no way we could paraphrase such wisdom. Fear of change is an obstacle for so many of us. When we asked her to give our readers a quick work of advice, she told us, “Honesty & integrity persevere!” Amen! And they definitely did for Joey. LA, and the celebrity world in general, is full of deceit. It’s hard to find genuine people, especially up at the top. When she isn’t out socializing for her job, Joey is still working hard. Her work ethic and perseverance are why we continue to admire her.
